I believe in America.
Whether she is right . . . or whether she is wrong!

When America is right,
I will stand proud,
And I will stand firm
Against those who would try to tear us down.

And, when America is wrong,
I will speak out to make things right,
But I will also stand firm
Against those who would try to tear us down.

No, America is not perfect,
But yes, she is Great.
No, America is not evil,
But yes, she often falls short of her ideals.

So, what is America?
She is the very best and the very worst in all of us.

For among us,
We have some of the best and brightest in the World.
Those that saw opportunity here,
Or the lack of it from where they came.

But also among us,
We have some of the least and worst in the World.
Those that take rather than give,
Because the taking is easier here,
And because they do not understand the Law of Giving.

And so, like the struggle within each of us individually,
The GOOD struggles with the BAD within America.

But from this struggle
We, as a nation, face-up to our shortcomings
And aspire to be our very best!
Succeeding at times, and failing at times,
But ALWAYS struggling to be as great as our dream.

And what a dream!
