What Are The "Times"?

Many Christians believe that we are in the "end times", or the times immediately preceding and including Daniel's 70th "week" of years, that is, according to the Bible, the 7 year period of time which culminates in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel.

These "times" are both the GREATEST times and the WORST times which will ever be known in history. They are the greatest because THE KING RETURNS! For Christians, there is nothing better nor more desired. BUT, they are the worst of times because He will decide life or death for BILLIONS of people. Those who are not saved will be lost. And the horror is that billions will be lost, to die now and for eternity.

What Are The "Signs"?

The "signs" are the proof that we are living in the "end times". Over a period of 1500 years, starting about 3500 years ago, God began to tell His prophets about the things He was going to do or allow to be done just prior to the coming of Messiah at the end of times. He told us, through the writings of the Prophets, to anxiously look for these things to happen as they were "signs" of the end times and His Coming. He also commanded us to prepare for those times as they would be the most difficult times in all of history. Only those that endured to the end would receive His reward of eternal life.

So the purpose of the signs are to warn ALL of the Earth that He — the Holy One of Israel, the Messiah, God Himself — is about to return as the undisputed King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Great "I Am" that first spoke to Moses in the Sinai desert millennia ago, is speaking to us through these signs. He is telling us that the end times battle between God and evil is about to come to a head and that we MUST choose sides, prepare, and wait upon Him.

If this were a hurricane coming, we would first have to 'choose sides', that is, decide whether or not we thought the hurricane was going to hit us. Then, if we decided it would, we would make the necessary preparations. Then, having done all that we could do, we would wait out the storm. In this same manner, we must decide if we believe He is coming, prepare for His return if we do, and then "wait upon the Lord".

Sounds pretty simple and easy, right? Nope! First, deciding on Him is the most important and difficult decision we can make in this life. We have to decide about the invisible when everything that is visible says He does not exist. Second, preparation takes a lifetime of faithful submission, trust, and obedience. And last, but certainly not least, waiting on Him is the ultimate test of this faith, trust, and obedience. Neither patience nor turning complete control over our lives to anyone — especially an invisible God — is a natural character attribute of we human beings. Our nature is selfish, self-centered, and ego-oriented — what the Bible calls "carnal" or "of the flesh". If it looks good, feels good, tastes good, smells good or sounds good — then we naturally want it and will go to most any lengths to get it for OURSELVES!

And finally, so that you may know the truth about OUR LORD and how much He truly loves you. It will set you free!!
