How to Become
a Christian


  • REALIZE THAT GOD LOVES YOU

    "For God so loved the world [You], that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever [You] believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

    "The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they [You] might have life, and might have it abundantly." John 10:10

  • REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER IN NEED OF FORGIVENESS

    • "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

    "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

    "It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment." Hebrews 9:27

  • REALIZE GOD WANTS TO FORGIVE YOU

    "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

    "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit." 1 Peter 3:18

  • TURN AWAY FROM YOUR SIN

    "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." Luke 13:5

    "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

  • PLACE YOUR FAITH IN GOD'S SON, JESUS CHRIST

    "Testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 20:21

    "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'" John 14:6

  • RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST

    "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me" Revelation 3:20

  • FOLLOW THE ABC'S:

      Admit to God that you are a sinner by being willing to repent or change;
      Believe in Jesus by accepting that He died for your sin and that you are saved -- that He died so you can live;
      Commit your life to Jesus by being willing to trust, obey and serve Him as your Savior and Lord.

    You can do this by praying a prayer like this one:

    "Lord Jesus, I now know I am a sinner. I believe you died for me and that because of your death, I can have eternal life. I accept your sacrifice and thank you for saving me from my sin. I accept you as my savior and I want you to be my Lord and God. I want to trust you, obey you, and serve you. I give myself to you and ask that you help me to be your good and faithful servant. I love you. Thank you for loving me. Amen.

    After you have received Jesus into your life, tell a Christian friend, and ask him or her to help you find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church to attend. Go in to see the Pastor when you find a church you would like to attend and ask him to baptize you. Get a Bible recommended by your Pastor and join a Bible study group recommended by the Pastor.
